unter soreles vigele, commissioned by YIVO, will receive a peek preview performance byMezzo Kathy Soroka and pianist Nathan Carterette  on the program Folk Songs and Love Songs on March 11, 8:00 PM at Walker Recital Hall of Mercyhurst University. My interpretation of this beautifully mysterious folksong floats on whole-tone scales and timbral imaginings, tied to triadic moments. Katherine Soroka and Nathan Carterette are outstanding performers and long-time champions of my music, with Nathan just releasing his masterful interpretation of my Chai Variations on Eliahu HaNavi on his CD Poets of the Piano: Acts of Faith, also available on multiple streaming service. The premiere will take place at the Center for Jewish History on June 18, 2020 in NYC.
