Program Note:
Aseret Makot, The Ten Plagues, is a round whose text consists of the Hebrew names of the ten plagues described in the Bible that descended on the Egyptians in a terrible crescendo before the Pharoh agreed to free the Jews from slavery. The story is retold each year during the holiday of Passover, with the order set in a compendium called the Haggadah. Narrative and prayers are interwoven with songs and discussion during the course of a dinner, called the Seder,  on the 15th day of the month of Nisan in the Hebrew calendar. The word Seder means order,  that goes from slavery to freedom.
