Soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon and Pianist Ryan McCullough Perform unter soreles vigele

Soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon and pianist Ryan McCullough will perform unter soreles vigele on the program presented by YIVO at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival at the Rinzler Stage on the National Mall between 7th and 12th St.  Commissioned by YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, as part of their Continuing Evolution Yiddish Folksong in Classical Music project, I chose to create my own interpretation of this folksong and to score it for mezzo and piano. It was given its digital premiere during the Pandemic  by mezzo Annie Rosen & pianist Daniel Schlosberg, with the performance available here.
